Ty Jibreel is one of two semi-detached properties located in the popular suburb of Whitchurch, both of which are under the management of Gofal Cymru Care. Ty Jibreel is able to provide 24-hour care and support for up to three children or young people. Where appropriate we seek to support the children in our care to work towards an increased quality of life, with a focus on a 24 hour curriculum, by linking in with schools and other services to increase continuity of care. This house has been renovated to a high standard and offers pleasant, airy living accommodation with spacious grounds. It is close to a variety of shops and facilities in Whitchurch and Llandaff North, and less than four miles from Cardiff City Centre. There are two railway stations within two miles and a good public transport network operates in the area. There is easy access to the A470 and the M4 for trips further afield.

Our aim at Ty Jibreel is to provide an environment that is a “home from home” where children feel safe and happy and their family and friends are welcome.

The ground floor has a spacious living room and dining room along with the kitchen and a toilet. The house is fully double glazed and centrally heated. The bedrooms are individually decorated to reflect the taste and needs of the occupant. Lockable doors ensure that privacy and dignity is maintained. At the rear of the house is an extensive garden area which provides secure, enclosed leisure space.

We provide full residential care and support including the administration of medication, personal care, behavioural and emotional support. We encourage children to play their part in the running of the home, teaching them appropriate skills according to their age and level of ability – tidying up, cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc., skills that will help in later life as they become adults.

The mix of children accommodated is carefully thought out according to their age, their specific needs and compatibility with anyone already in residence.
