Timothy house

Timothy House, the first care home we established in 2008, remains our flagship service. It is registered to accommodate six adults aged 18 and above.

It is located, along with its “sister” house, Rees House, in the residential area of Danescourt on the outskirts of Cardiff. The location allows easy access to local amenities such as shops, post office, GP’s surgery, pubs and hairdressers.

There are good, regular public transport links both into the city centre and out to other areas. This increases the opportunities for community participation for individuals both in terms of leisure opportunities and learning.

There are six single bedrooms, two on the ground floor and four on the first floor. All have en suite toilets, and two also benefit from en suite showers. In addition there are three communal shower rooms, two on the first floor and one on the ground floor.

The shared space consists of an activity room, small lounge, larger living area with an activity kitchen, and a conservatory which houses the dining area.  At the rear of the house there is a spacious garden with a patio and raised flower beds.  The open driveway in front of the house can only be accessed by residents when being supported by staff.

We cater for individuals presenting with various diagnoses of mild to moderate learning disabilities, acquired brain injury and mental health issues including severe anxiety disorder, depression, psychosis, paranoid schizophrenia and personality disorder.  These are sometimes accompanied by various healthcare needs such as diabetes and severe epilepsy.
