Day Service Opportunities

We created a Daytime Opportunity Service due to numerous requests from our Service Users and families who wanted an alternative service to traditional day centres.

To supplement our services, all homes have an Activity Service for new and existing Service Users. This service is offered in a structured environment to enhance existing services that service users may access – such as college or supported employment.

Wet weather activities include, mosaic work, computers, digital photography, pottery, textiles and tapestry, sewing, health and personal care in a structured setting.

Dry weather activities include pony trekking, rambling, beach combing, horticulture and garden design.

All sessions are in small groups with a ratio minimum of 1.2, depending on mood and Resident need.

The service currently operates on a Monday, supplemented by existing house, social and individual activity timetables already in place.

For the next 12 – 24 months we intend to focus on developing the in house service with a view to increasing the profile and developing the numbers of attendee’s that have access to the service.

Day activities offer purposeful activities, to push individual’s imagination in terms of what they can and do achieve. All aspects of Day Services within Gofal Cymru Care Should be looked at as a scheme in progress and Changes from time to time, this should be viewed as a natural development.

The Service employs its own dedicated staff team whom are unrivalled in their enthusiasm for supporting Service Users accessing, fun, challenging, character building and social activities.

The Service is a hub where our Service Users can:

  • Meet other like minded people
  • Receive support from staff other then their regular ‘home’ staff
